These terms and conditions apply to all orders placed with us online or by telephone. Please read them carefully — a copy will be sent to you with your order confirmation.
Ownership of Goods
Legal ownership of any goods remains with us until we have received payment in full. If goods are released to you before full payment has been made, we reserve the right to recover those goods until all outstanding amounts are settled.
1. Placing an Order
You can place an order online through our website checkout or by calling us on 01604 780350. Once your order is placed, we'll send you a confirmation by email.
We may be unable to accept your order if:
• The product is out of stock or no longer available
• There has been a pricing or description error on our website
• We are unable to obtain authorisation for your payment
• Delivery to your location is not possible or incurs additional charges
If we can't accept your order, we'll contact you to explain why and offer any alternatives. If a revised order is not acceptable to you, we'll cancel it and issue a full refund.
2. Payment
Payment is required in full at the time of ordering. For orders over £2,000, or for bespoke or larger buildings, we may accept a 50% deposit with the remaining balance due before delivery.
We accept the following payment methods:
• Credit and debit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Delta
• Bank transfer
• PayPal
• Buy Now Pay Later via Klarna (subject to Klarna's own terms and eligibility)
Payments are processed securely at the time of ordering. Credit accounts may be available for approved local government bodies and corporate customers, with payment terms of up to 30 days from invoice date.
3. Delivery
Delivery is included in our prices for most areas of mainland UK. Additional charges may apply for deliveries to Scotland, offshore islands, and some other areas — these are noted on individual product pages. If you're unsure, please call us before ordering.
Estimated delivery lead times are given in working days (Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays) and run from the point your payment clears. Orders placed after 12 noon will have their lead time start from the next working day.
A few things to know about delivery:
• Most deliveries are kerbside — you'll need two able-bodied people available to help unload
• Delivery is usually between 8am and 8pm on weekdays; we can't offer timed delivery slots
• Larger items (such as log cabins) are typically delivered by articulated lorry with a demountable forklift — please ensure suitable access is available
• If access to your property may be restricted, please tell us when ordering
• Any failed delivery due to access issues may result in additional charges
We act as a retailer, not the manufacturer, so we can't be held responsible for delays caused by manufacturers or their carriers. If your delivery is delayed beyond our published lead time, you may cancel your order without penalty. We won't issue compensation for delays.
If you're arranging your own installation, we recommend waiting until you've received your confirmed delivery date before booking a fitter. If you've ordered installation through us, delivery and installation will usually happen on separate days — our installation team will contact you after delivery.
4. Faulty or Damaged Goods
All products are newly manufactured and should match the specification shown on our website. We do occasionally sell ex-display or clearance items — these are clearly labelled.
Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected by these terms. If your goods arrive damaged or faulty:
• Please photograph the damage before moving or attempting to build anything — for log cabins, damaged parts should remain on the pallet
• Report the damage within 5 working days of delivery by emailing sales@taylorsgardenbuildings.co.uk or calling 01604 780350
• Do not attempt to fit or modify the item, and keep the original packaging
Where a part is damaged but replaceable, we'll arrange a replacement part. A full product replacement will be offered where parts cannot be replaced or at our discretion.
If the goods are confirmed as faulty, we'll arrange collection. For smaller items, you may be asked to return them by post. We'll process your refund or replacement as quickly as possible and within 14 days of the goods being returned to us.
5. Returns & Cancellations
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 calendar days of delivery, without giving a reason — unless the product was made to your specific requirements (bespoke orders).
To cancel, contact us by:
• Email: sales@taylorsgardenbuildings.co.uk
• Phone: 01604 780350
• Post: Taylors Garden Buildings, Woodmeadow Garden Centre, Kettering Road, Northampton, NN6 9TD
Please include your order reference when cancelling. Once you've notified us, you have a further 14 calendar days to return the goods.
Important conditions:
• Goods must be returned in their original, unassembled condition with original packaging
• We cannot accept returns for items that have been assembled, modified, or damaged while in your care
• You are responsible for the cost of returning goods unless the goods are faulty or we have made an error
• For large items such as sheds and log cabins, we'll arrange collection — you'll be informed of the collection cost before we proceed
Refunds will be issued within 14 days of us receiving the returned goods, or within 14 days of you providing proof of return — whichever is sooner.
6. Shortages & Damages on Delivery
Please inspect your delivery carefully when it arrives. Any shortages or visible damage should be reported to us within 5 working days.
If you have shingles with your building, check the quantity before you start building. Please don't overlap them too tightly, as this can create the appearance of a shortage.
We may ask for photographic evidence to help us assess the issue. Once a claim is approved, replacement parts are usually dispatched within 5–10 working days (subject to manufacturer stock levels).
We won't be liable for damage that occurs during self-assembly or misuse. Products found to be in satisfactory condition on return will have any reasonable return costs deducted.
7. Installation Service
Where installation has been included or added to your order, please ensure the following before our team arrives:
• A flat, level base of concrete or paving slabs (unless otherwise agreed with us)
• Clear, unobstructed access from kerbside to the installation site
• At least 600mm of clearance around the site for sheds; 1,200–2,000mm for log cabins
• Let us know if the site is more than 25 metres from the nearest vehicle access point
If the base is not suitable on arrival, the installation may be postponed at the fitter's discretion, or you may be asked to sign a disclaimer. In either case, 90% of the installation fee will still be charged.
Please note: shingles may be fixed using heavy-duty staples, which is an industry-standard method. In exposed or high-wind locations, we recommend additionally securing shingles with bitumen adhesive — this is not included as part of the installation service.
8. Dimensions & Specifications
We do our best to ensure all product information on our website is accurate, but manufacturers occasionally update specifications without notice. With timber products, all dimensions are approximate — wood is a natural material that expands and contracts with changes in humidity and temperature.
If you have specific requirements around dimensions or specification, please contact us before ordering and we'll be happy to clarify.
9. Natural Timber — Cracks & Splits
Wood is a living material and will react to changes in temperature and humidity. Splits and cracks in timber are completely normal and are not a manufacturing defect.
In most cases splits will be 5–10mm wide and won't penetrate more than half the depth of the timber. They will not compromise the structural integrity of your building. As moisture levels change, cracks will naturally open and close.
We recommend treating your building with a good quality timber preservative, which helps to manage moisture absorption and reduce surface cracking.
10. Complaints & Disputes
If something goes wrong, please get in touch with us as soon as possible. We want to resolve any issues quickly and fairly.
Contact us by phone on 01604 780350 or by email at sales@taylorsgardenbuildings.co.uk, quoting your order reference and a brief description of the issue. We aim to respond to all queries within 3 working days.
If we're unable to resolve your complaint directly, you have the right to use an approved Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) scheme. Details of available schemes can be found at www.gov.uk/government/publications/use-an-alternative-dispute-resolution-service.
11. Price Match
We work hard to offer competitive pricing. If you find the same product available from a comparable retailer at a lower price, please let us know and we'll do our best to match or beat it. We reserve the right not to price match in cases where it's not commercially viable.
12. Financial Difficulty & Insolvency
If a customer becomes insolvent or appears likely to do so, or is otherwise in breach of these terms, we reserve the right to postpone or cancel delivery and to recover any goods for which payment has not been received. We may also seek to recover our costs and any loss of profit arising from such cancellation.
13. Our Liability
We are not the manufacturer of the products we sell. We will not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses arising from the use of our products or from delays in delivery caused by manufacturers or carriers.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
These terms were last updated in June 2025 and apply to all orders placed on or after this date. We may update these terms from time to time — the current version will always be available on our website.
