Glazing Options |
| Elite offer a range of glazing options, as standard
the greenhouses are fitted with horticultural glass. However, there
are toughened and polycarbonate options available. Horticultural Glass: This glass is included with all greenhouses
as standard, features 3mm thick overlapping glass sheets.
Toughened Safety Glass: This grade A toughened glass is
manufactured to British Standard EN12150 which is primarily in full lengths
sheets which in turn provides a neater professional finish. There is no
chance of overlapping glass where algae and moss can often be a problem. The
safe design means that upon breakage the glass granulates which means there
is no danger of injury.
Polycarbonate: This comes in full sheets and is a great option if
your greenhouse is near pets or children. The UVI treated polycarbonate is
6mm thick and features a twin wall with silvered edges.
Bar Capping: This provides a stronger hold for the glazing and
adds a decorative finish to any greenhouse. The rubber fin also adds a
better water seal between the frame and glass. Capping is used in addition
to wire clips so in effect will add double protection which is ideal in more
exposed areas. The capping is simply tapped into position where the unique
serrated peg engages with the aluminium bar, which does not leave any
unsightly screw heads showing. This is available in Green, Brown, Black,
White and Terracotta.
Glass is extremely fragile so please ensure during handling safety gloves
and goggles are worn.

Accessories |
 |
| Elite provide many optional accessories to help
achieve the perfect greenhouse for your gardening requirements. Each
accessory is tailored towards fulfilling your growing potential.
Ventilation: Ventilation is a major part of a successful
greenhouse. Ventilation needs to be carefully considered, too much and
too little can both be disastrous. It is important for your greenhouse
to be able to breathe in terms of both oxygen and cool air intake. Vents
are most commonly placed within the roof or side of your greenhouse, in
the form of a louvre vent. Both of these types of ventilation can be
manually or automatically controlled.
Manual Vents:
- Elite Manual Roof Vent - with the exception of the window garden all the
greenhouses include at least one of these 4ft sq. vents. Depending
upon the size and what the greenhouse is going to be used for,
additional roof vents may be added.
- 5 Blade Manual Louvre Vent - ideal for adding to the side or rear
of the greenhouse. Humid and stagnant air can cause condensation and
develop disease and mould in plants. By adding a 5 blade louvre on the
side of your building, fresh air is drawn in and encouraged to
circulate from different levels.
Automatic Vents: There are several types of ventilation available but
the automatic designs are the most popular as they offer piece of mind
when away at work or on holiday. Ventilation is provided automatically
via a solar powered wax cylinder which opens or closes the vent when the
temperature inside the greenhouse reaches a preset level. Replacement
wax cylinders are also available to purchase alongside each greenhouse.
- Elite Automatic - opens the vent to 18" which allows maximum
ventilation. These require no drilling with its universal fitting
making it compatible with all industry models.
- Automatic Louvre Vent - mechanisms are also available for the 5
blade louvre ventilation system.
Rainwater Collection: This is an excellent way to nurture your
plants as rainwater is better than tap water. There are four different
types available which are all designed to fit the standard Elite
guttering.
Designs:
- Standard rainwater kit - this works by collecting the rain water
into a barrel or other storage container. The kit comprises of pipe
work and outlets for one end of each gutter and stoppers to terminate
the opposite ends.
- Lean-To rainwater kit - similar to the standard rainwater kit but
designed for the lean-to greenhouses.
- Rainwater kit to one gutter - Designed to collect all the rainwater
into one container. A traverse pipe is placed along the rear of the
greenhouse to create a t-junction where both gutters meet.
Barrels are not included in the kits, but can be brought separately.
It is possible to create bespoke guttering by ordering the guttering
accessories separately.
Staging: When purchasing staging it is important to consider
the width and length of your greenhouse and the staging layout/design
you will require. There are several types of staging available:
- Diamond series staging - Manufactured from extruded aluminium this
staging is able to fill the full length or width of your greenhouse.
There are no visible legs which means the height can be adjusted to
provide plenty of storage space below the bench. The slatted design is
ideal for ventilation and drainage.
- Modular Staging - Lightweight and affordable staging offering
storage and maximum working areas.
- Heavy Duty Aluminium Staging -Ideal for a large greenhouse, a
strong bench, double bolted with support braces.
- Heavy Duty Wooden Staging - Manufactured from tanalised timber with
45x45mm bracing. Virtually maintenance free so ideal for both indoor
and outdoor use.
- Aluminium slatted bench - Available in one size only, fitted with
two tiers and adjustable slat widths. Ideal for controlling
ventilation and water intake.
Shelving: These aluminium shelves are ideal for placing above
staging. There are three types of Elite shelving available:
- Diamond Shelving - This shelving can be adjusted to any height,
built with a slatted design to allow extra ventilation and water
intake. The shelving is tailored to suit the Elite greenhouses.
- Extruded Shelving - A ridged aluminium shelf complete with fixings
and brackets, this strong and robust shelf adds to the greenhouses
strength available in three different lengths.
- Sheet Metal Shelving - This shelf is formed into a tray and sits on
alloy braces, can be flat or inverted. Includes drainage points at
each corner.

Base
Options |
 |
| All Elite buildings require a
base so the door can slide into the bottom rack. It is possible to
install a timber, brick or aluminium base with your greenhouse.
Built-in-base - With the Compact, Streamline, Craftsman, High Eave
and Belmont greenhouses, the aluminium base is an integral part of the
framework. As standard the doors are 'dropped' into Elite's aluminium
base providing a ground level threshold allowing easy access for the
user.
Separate Base - On models up to 14' long, it is possible to purchase
a separate 5" tall aluminium base. This will not discolour or rust and
can be powder coated to match your greenhouse. The greenhouse is able to
sit onto solid foundation, brick or grass. The doors can also be dropped
into brick work or aluminium base to allow wheelchair and wheelbarrow
access.
Brick Base- On larger greenhouses Elite recommend laying a
brick base. The greenhouse actual size is slightly larger than the
dimensions given so it is necessary to built a slightly larger base.
