General |
 |
|
First class Northern European pine is the foundation of
all LUGARDE summerhouses and log cabins. In these countries governmental
authorities exercise stringent supervision to ensure that more trees are
planted than are cut down, so that the ecological balance perfectly is
maintained. Lugarde guarantee that we will choose only the highest
quality materials and accessories, in the manufacture of our summerhouse
and log cabin garden buildings. The assembling of a LUGARDE summerhouse
or log cabin does not require more than average technical and
do-it-yourself skills, so even you can assemble this summerhouse from
the floor up to the roof. As a matter of course all summerhouses
and log cabins come with assembly instructions. At an additional charge
however you can leave the assembly work to us. Please contact us
for a quote.

Building
Permission |
 |
|
Depending on the local authorities and size of your Lugarde building you
may need planning consent if you intend to build a summerhouse or log
cabin in your garden. Your local council will give you any information
you need. We can supply building drawings of all LUGARDE summerhouses
and log cabins free of charge.

Preparation |
 |
|
A solid foundation is necessary for the installation of your Lugarde
summerhouse or log cabin. Depending on soil type it has to be removed to
a depth of approx. 15 cm. Next fill in with yellow sand, compact or
vibrate and than lay concrete slabs or put down concrete. Make sure that
the top of the floor is always above ground level and that it is
absolutely level. This will prevent you from unnecessary problems. It is
advisable to apply a layer of gravel around your summerhouse or log
cabin to prevent water from splashing up. If you require further
details, please contact us and we will gladly offer our advice.

Finish |
 |
|
All LUGARDE summerhouses and log cabin garden buildings are delivered
untreated. New for 2011, Lugarde buildings are now
available with an optional transparent colour stain in blue-grey, white,
brown or green. Each building is pre-treated with a colourless base
before the colour is applied. With this treatment the building will be
maintenance free for up to 2-5 years, dependant on local weather
conditions and offers a building that is instantly weather proof after
installation. The entire building is treated including all the parts
that are unreachable after installation.

Walls, Roof
and floor |
 |
Floor
A 19 mm thick pinewood floor is available as an option, including
high-pressure-impregnated floor joists.
|
Walls
All summerhouses in the Prima and Fifth Avenue series consist of a
unique 3=1 system, developed by LUGARDE, where the moulded wall
elements slide perfectly into the corresponding corner posts. The
corner posts are reinforced with an invisible aluminium strip, a
system which improves the durability of the summerhouse under all
weather conditions. The assembling system is simple and durable,
and all wall elements are erected without nails or screws. The
thickness of the wall elements is 28 mm. for summerhouses up to
300 cm and 44 mm for the models from 350 cm. For summerhouses with
a wall thickness of 28 mm the wall elements are placed on
pressure-impregnated foundation beams of 44x70 mm. Buildings with
a wall thickness of 44 mm are placed on foundation beams of 70x70
mm.
|
 |
|
Roof
For summerhouses in the octagonal range up to 300 cm the roof is
made up of 8 ready-to-use elements, both for thatched roofs and
for shingle roofs. In all summerhouses from 350 cm across, the
roof comes as a do-it-yourself construction kit and includes
rafters, roof elements, shingles and decorative moulding (if
applicable). The roof covering is made of 19 mm thick pine wood
boards, which are completely prepared. In models over 350 cm
across thatching has to be done by local professional thatchers.
The roof elements however are included in the delivery.
Shingles
We offer a choice of 5 shingle colours: green, red, brown, black and
bluish-grey for your Lugarde garden building. Unless otherwise
requested all summerhouses and log cabins will be supplied with green
shingles. You can also opt for hexagonal shingles in the colours black
and red or copper shingles.
For the additional charge of these shingles please contact us.

Windows
and Doors |
 |
You can combine or enlarge the doors and windows for your Lugarde garden
building as you please, as long as the dimensions correspond to the
summerhouse or log cabin (i.e. will fit the wall size) of your choice.
Should you choose a size which differs from the standard dimensions
there will be an additional modification cost for each alteration.
All garden buildings with 44 mm wall elements can be delivered with
double glazed (16 mm) windows and doors. The relevant types are window
PE44 and door PE45. All single doors are supplied with standard opening
left sided (as seen from the outside). If you want the door opening on
the right, please order it that way. In case of double doors, the right
door will open first. During construction the doors and windows are
slipped over the wall elements from the top, together with the frames,
creating a very stable structure.

influence of sun, water and UV-light with a preservative soon
after installation.

Guarantee |
 |
|
LUGARDE guarantees all its summerhouses and log cabins for 5 years on
manufacturing or construction defects. Such guarantees however only apply
for those products which have been installed and which are treated according
to the instructions and directions of Lugarde. Wood is a unique, natural
product and the finish on boards will therefore vary. Variation will
therefore be seen in the grains and shades of colour. Such properties are
normal in wood and cannot be considered as a defect. They have to be
accepted as an unavoidable property of the product. All summerhouses or log
cabins which are constructed from wood will shrink or swell according to
weather conditions and along with warping are natural properties of wood.
