Roof: The roof material used is EPDM or Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer is a synthetic rubber material, made by Firestone. We have chosen this to guarantee a water tight roof for 25 years. The EPDM is a one piece roof sheet that means, no joins, no nails, no tears, no leaks, no maintenance, this means you can sleep safely at night in any weather. Using the EDPM system we can also offer an Eco-friendly green roof system if required, using low maintenance planting such as sedums (succulents) and indigenous herbs and grasses which provide excellent cover and increased protection to the waterproofing system.

Drainage: Each Cedar Studio comes with a set of PVC guttering and down pipe to the rear, in a Brown Square design.

Walls: The timber frame construction walls are built in a modular system comparable to any modern house build, the insulated walls use a high performance, rigid polyurethane foam cavity board faced both sides with a multi layer coated aluminum foil. Joined to a breathable membrane to stop any rot or decay and finished with kiln dried tongue and grooved Western Red Cedar vertically mounted. The western red cedar can be oil or if preferred left to go a silver grey natural finish.

Base/Floor: The long lasting floor of the Inhus offices are comprised of Heavy tanalised joists, with treated 18mm ply board, 50mm jablite, 18mm treated chipboard all housing 70mm thick insulation board. A tanalised covered deck runs the width of the building providing an outside porch which is lit with two wall mounted brushed steel lights and 10 led decking lights.

Walls and Ceilings: The Inhus is an modular design, therefore we do not use "wet" trades such as plasters, we believe garden buildings made from natural sustainable timbers will have a natural tendency to expand slightly during the life of the building this causes cracking and gaps when plastered, these need constant attention. At Inhus we use a MDF melamine faced sheet, (not chip board) to eliminate cracking and long term maintenance problems, treated and sealed this gives the customer a washable faced finish that lasts forever regardless of movement. The sheets can be faced in almost any finish, from the standard cream to a optional wood finish. We also use the same system on the ceiling to ensure low maintenance and ease of cleaning.

Electrical: We believe that the electrics can make your garden building, from a place to visit, to a place to work from and enjoy, that's why as standard we supply a minimum of 6 double sockets, 2 kitchen sockets, 2 telephone sockets, 2 network sockets and a ring main electrical system that allows you to fit a heater anywhere in your office subject to you own office equipment or preferred layout. The lighting comes complete with flush mounted ceiling lights or ceiling roses depending on your personal choices. The exterior is also taken care of; included is 2 stainless steel exterior up/down lights and LED decking lights as standard. You move into your Inhus, the minute we leave. (You are required to instruct a certified electrician to connect mains input to the Inhus exterior junction box.)

Flooring: Each Cedar Office comes complete with an interior floor covering. Inhus offer twelve different colours/finishes in either  fitted carpets or laminated flooring.

Inhus have a top range of accessories which complement and enhance these cedar insulated garden offices. These include the basic additions such as extra windows or more hi-tech options like the self cleaning glass. Each can personalise your building or make it just right for your home working environment.

Normally you do not need planning for an inhus however you will need to consult your local planning office if you:

• Locate your inhus within 5 metres of your house or your inhus takes more than 50% of your garden.

• You live in a listed building or within a conservation area, national Park, area of national beauty of the boards.

• You position inhus between the highway and your property.

• If you cannot position your inhus 1 metre away from your boundary.

Like other garden buildings these Cedar Insulated Offices do require a clear, firm, level site for installation with approximately 1 metre of clear space around the building. Hard standings have traditional been produced with a full concrete pad or piles.

Inhus has recently rediscovered an alternative, wooden piling. This is becoming more and more acceptable as an eco-friendly alternative offering; no mess, no fuss and ready to install the Inhus directly onto within 5 hours of site entrance. Wooden piling have a proven history for thousands of years even going back to before records started. Most recently they are used around the world for sea works, harbours, moorings and closer to home are use daily to support houses etc, on the Norfolk broads and other coastal areas, with a life expectancy of over 40-50 years. These solutions can be quoted on as a separate item.

Your inhus garden office is delivered on a 7.5 ton transit vehicle which can reach most home situations. The Cedar Clad Offices do require a straight clear access to your pre-prepared site. Your Inhus building will be installed by the expert Inhus fitters and as the insulated studios are made in a modular design they can be fitted quite quickly within 2 to 5 days, depending on the style and complexity of your design. Please allow approximately 1.0m around the building for clear installation and to avoid planning permission complications.

Base preparation is not included as standard although services are available, please contact us for details. Whilst all models are complete with double sockets, telephone and network cables, you are required to instruct a certified electrician to connect mains input to the inhus exterior junction box.

Because the Inhus cedar studios are manufactured from quality components and are installed by expert Inhus fitters they are happy to give a 5 years warranty on manufacturing or construction defects. They do ask you to remember that wood is a unique, natural product and the finish on boards will therefore vary. Variation will be seen in the grains and shades of colour. Such properties are normal in wood and cannot be considered as a defects. They have to be accepted as an unavoidable property of the product.
